DeepScout Introduced as an Integrated AI Solution for Earlier Cancer Detection

BiX introduced DeepScout, a multimodal AI solution designed to identify pre-cancer signals by combining medical imaging and clinical information across abdominal organs.

The Korea Economic Daily introduced DeepScout as BiX's integrated AI solution for detecting signs of cancer earlier. BiX was founded around a research team led by Janghwan Choi, a professor in Ewha Womans University's Department of Artificial Intelligence.

DeepScout is designed to identify pre-cancerous signals and evaluate multiple abdominal organs together. It combines CT information with clinical data, applies image-quality improvement to low-dose scans, performs multi-label diagnostic analysis, and visualizes results for clinical review.

The article explains that conventional AI systems can be limited by noisy low-dose CT images and organ-specific analysis. BiX's approach uses more than a decade of image-restoration research and considers relationships among the liver, biliary tract, pancreas, and surrounding structures.

BiX reported 95% diagnostic accuracy for pancreatic cancer, along with supporting patents and academic publications. At the time of reporting, the company was conducting proof-of-concept work with hospitals and preparing DeepScout for market launch.
