ABOUT BiX
BiX turns subtle, multimodal cancer signals into earlier clinical insight for patients with hepatobiliary and pancreatic disease.
BIO INTELLIGENCE + X
Detecting hope early.
Saving lives through AI.
BiX is a faculty-founded medical AI company translating clinical research into practical tools for earlier cancer detection. We focus on the liver, biliary tract, and pancreas, where subtle early signals are often difficult to recognize and every month can matter.
Our Mission
Advance precision diagnostics through multimodal AI.
We combine longitudinal CT imaging with clinical indicators to help clinicians recognize risk earlier, make better-informed decisions, and preserve a wider window for treatment.
Our Vision
Set a new standard for hepatobiliary and pancreatic diagnosis.
BiX is building an integrated diagnostic foundation that can expand from the upper abdomen to broader, whole-body clinical intelligence.
FOUNDER & CEO
Jang-Hwan Choi, Ph.D.
Founder & CEO, BiX · Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence, Ewha Womans University
Jang-Hwan Choi received his Ph.D. from Stanford University in 2015, where he focused on AI-driven big-data analytics and image processing. After completing a postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University School of Medicine and working as a Senior Researcher at ETRI, he joined Ewha Womans University in 2017.
He leads the Medical AI & Computer Vision Lab and translates research in medical AI, computer vision, and multimodal data analysis into practical clinical solutions at BiX.
Our Principles
Evidence in every decision.
We begin with the clinical question that can meaningfully improve a patient's chance of timely treatment.
We validate performance through research, clinical collaboration, and continuous learning.
We design for real clinical environments, including connection to the PACS systems hospitals already use.
MOMENTUM
From research to clinical impact.
BiX was founded as an Ewha Womans University faculty venture and selected for the Yonsei University Pre-Startup Package.
Selected for the Initial Startup Package and I-Corps support; received seed and Pre-A investment; awarded Top Excellence at the Ewha Life-Tech Startup Competition.
Selected for TIPS to advance DeepScout, an integrated multimodal AI platform for abdominal multi-organ diagnosis.
COLLABORATION
Built with clinical, research, and technology partners.
Our network brings together hospitals, universities, imaging companies, and global technology organizations to accelerate responsible clinical translation.
